~*Fern's Hide out*~
The first of the vehicles pulled into the driveway of the huge manor. A few vehicles were already parked. One of Nova's assistants stood on the steps leading to the manor, he was a little short and had darker skin, slightly wavy, short, black hair and rather notable, deep green eyes. Fern had seen him a few times but his name alluded her. Vic got out of the car and moved around to open Fern's door.
Fern supposed it was only natural that one of Nova's men would be there to greet her--it was Nova who provided this place, after all, and perhaps he was there to show her around or give her a message. Still, the blond woman kept him in her peripherals even as she stepped out of the car with a charming smile: "Thank you, Vic."
Vic nodded and moved to get some of the bags, Fern could tell he was uncomfortable with there new , flashier surroundings.
"Welcome, Miss Fern. Nova sends her regards and regrets that she could not be here to greet you herself. I am Edgar, I'll be giving you a tour of your new home and stay with you until you are settled in."
Nova's assistant stated as he stepped forward. He's words were oddly vacant and his eyes seemed to look through Fern rather than at her.
"It is quite alright. I fully understand that my patroness is a busy woman, and her generosity is more than enough."
Fern bowed her head briefly, seemingly unfazed by the assistant's odd demeanor. "It is a pleasure, Edgar."
"The pleasures all mine."
Edgar replied with his own short, but polite bow. "Shall we begin the tour or are there more people you would like to wait on?"
"Word of mouth spreads fast with my people, and many prefer to snoop around at their own pace. Lead the way."
Edgar nodded and opened the door for them, revealing the elaborate entry hall.
Fern ran her eyes over the vast space: "Was this place built recently? I find it hard to believe such a lavish estate would go unravaged through the wars."
"Actually it's quite old. It was ravaged several times before Miss Nova's family came across it and refurbished it. Although, there are plenty of original items that where found and or repaired."
Edgar replied waiting for them finish taking in the entry hall.
"I imagine the stairs and bannisters took some replacing...Wh
at about support beams and other means of structural support?"
"It was rather difficult. It was tricky especially with Nova's request to keep it as historically accurate as possible but after a few years we were able to replace everything that was needed." Edhar replied running one of his hand affectionately over a column as he spoke.
